Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach deviates from the series' traditional point-and-click style, offering a first-person adventure set in the expansive Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. As Gregory, your primary goal is to survive until 6:00 AM, navigating a vast environment filled with hostile animatronics and security threats. This guide provides essential tips and tricks to help you conquer the challenges and uncover the secrets within the Pizzaplex.
General Survival Strategies
Embrace Stealth: The most crucial aspect of the game is stealth. Navigate the map carefully, avoiding direct confrontation with murderous animatronics like Glamrock Chica, Roxanne Wolf, Montgomery Gator, and the security guard, Vanessa.
Utilize Hiding Places: The Pizzaplex is equipped with numerous hiding spots such as photo booths, strollers, lockers, ice cream carts, bins, laundry baskets, and food stalls. When detected, sprint to break the enemy's line of sight before entering a hiding spot to evade capture. You can also hide inside Freddy himself.
Observe Enemy Patterns: Security S.T.A.F.F. robots patrol most areas. Take time to observe their movement patterns and rush to the next safe spot during gaps. Listening to animatronics' taunts and noises can also help you mentally note their direction, proximity, and which animatronic is speaking.
Break Line of Sight: If spotted, use sprint to quickly reach a corner or pillar to break the enemy's line of sight. Animatronics are not adept at finding you once line of sight is lost, allowing you to change direction or find a hiding spot. Roxy, in particular, gives up quickly if she loses track of you, and escalators or circular areas can be used to your advantage against her.
Save Frequently: Animatronics are incredibly powerful, and most encounters can result in an instant game over with no easy checkpoints. Save your progress regularly at save stations. It's recommended to maintain two save files to mitigate potential game-breaking bugs.
Understanding Animatronics and Enemies
Each animatronic has unique behaviors that influence how you should approach them.
Glamrock Chica: After being decommissioned, Chica gains the ability to teleport, indicated by a jump scare sound. She can also turn her head 360 degrees, so be extra cautious when sneaking around her.
Montgomery Gator (Monty): Monty wears sunglasses, making him immune to light-based stuns. Listen for a distinct sound that warns you he is about to jump.
Roxanne Wolf (Roxy): Roxy is generally the easiest animatronic to lose. She gives up chases quickly once line of sight is broken. Utilizing escalators or running in circles around objects like palm trees can effectively throw her off your trail.
S.T.A.F.F. Robots: These security robots actively patrol areas and will trigger alarms if they catch you, spawning an animatronic behind you. Cleaning robots also pose a threat; approaching one while it's mopping will cause it to signal for help, attracting an animatronic.
Moondrop (Daycare Attendant): During the Daycare section, you must activate five generators to escape this aggressive animatronic.
Resource Management
Conserve Sprint Stamina: Your sprint ability is invaluable for escaping pursuers or quickly moving between safe spots. However, stamina is limited and recharges over time. Use it strategically to break line of sight or reach cover, rather than continuous running.
Manage Battery Usage: Your flashlight and Fazer Blaster operate on battery power. While recharging stations are available, they might not always be convenient. Conserve battery for critical moments. Furthermore, Freddy himself has a battery level; if he runs out of power while you're inside him after a certain point, it can lead to a game over. Recharge Freddy whenever possible.
Utilizing Your Tools
Faz-Watch: This essential tool provides access to maps, missions, and confidential messages. Use the map to plan your routes and track objectives in the vast Pizzaplex.
Security Cameras: Accessible via your Faz-Watch, security cameras are a powerful tool to monitor animatronic locations and plot safe paths through areas while you remain hidden.
Outline Indicator: Pay attention to the outline at the bottom right of your screen. Blue indicates you are undetected, yellow means potential danger, and red signifies you have been detected.
Distractions: Knocking over paint cans and toys can draw enemies away from your path, allowing you to slip by unnoticed.
Key Upgrades and Collectibles
Collecting upgrades and passes is crucial for progression and survival:
Security Badges (Passes): Found in Security Offices, these allow access to restricted areas. Some are mandatory for missions, while optional ones can open new exploration paths.
Party Passes: These grant one-time access to attractions like Monty Golf or Fazer Blast. Use them wisely to find hidden secrets and collectibles within those areas.
Fizzy Faz: These collectibles act as stamina upgrades, improving your ability to sprint.
Flashlight and Freddy Battery Upgrades: Seek these out to extend the operational time of your flashlight and Freddy's power.
Hoodie and Shoes Upgrades: These offer gameplay advantages, such as increased speed.
Fazcam: This item can stun multiple animatronics simultaneously and recharges at flashlight stations.
Fazerblaster: If you choose to acquire the Fazerblaster, ensure the crosshair setting is enabled for easier aiming.
Princess Quest Arcades: Playing these arcade games is vital for unlocking certain endings.
Achieving Different Endings
Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach features six distinct endings, each requiring specific actions and choices, particularly at the 06:00 AM mark.
Bad Ending (1 Star): The easiest ending to achieve. Simply survive until 06:00 AM and choose the option to leave the Pizzaplex.
Disassembled Ending (2 Stars): Discover Vanny's secret lair, which is located near the Fazer Blast main office, accessible through a vent. At 06:00 AM, choose the 'Vanny' option.
Unmasked Ending (2 Stars): Choose to stay at 06:00 AM, then proceed to the Prize Counter. Locate the Emergency Exit and choose to leave through it. This ending may also involve collecting all six Golden Plush Toys and having all three upgrades for Glamrock Freddy, along with the Faz Camera.
Good Ending (2 Stars): After reaching 06:00 AM, choose to stay. Head to the Old Elevator found in the backrooms of Roxy's Raceway. Descend into the Old Pizzeria and defeat William Afton (Springtrap) in a boss fight.
Princess Quest Ending / Savior Ending (3 Stars): Complete Princess Quest 1 (in the Glamrock Beauty Salon) and Princess Quest 2 (in DJ Music Man's arcade) before 06:00 AM. Then, at 06:00 AM, select the 'Vanny' option and complete Princess Quest 3 in Vanny's Lair.
True Ending / Burntrap Ending: This ending involves choosing to stay at 06:00 AM, then going to the Old Elevator in Roxy's Raceway to reach the Old Pizzeria and face William Afton. It's crucial to be inside Freddy during the descent into Burntrap's lair to avoid an instant jumpscare.
Mission-Specific Advice
Prize Counter Lockdown: During the 'Prize Counter' mission, after collecting the Security Badge from the Security Office, a lockdown will occur. The easiest way to survive this segment is to crouch under the save station within the office and remain there until Freddy shuts down the alarm.
